Industry News | April 24, 2018, noon

Marand’s CEO and Co-Chair of openEHR Foundation, Tomaž Gornik,  will join Inge Andersson, Head of Offering & Portfolio at Tieto Healthcare & Welfare Nordic, on stage at the largest eHealth event in Scandinavia, Vitalis 2018. Their presentation "Healthcare and social care is changing - start thinking open platforms" will take place on Wednesday, 25 April 2018, from 12.00 to 12.30, at A3/4. Marand will also be present at Vitalis at the Tieto booth

The open standard approach has been recognized by Gartner, stating in its recent research note: “Truly effective and sustainable open architectures will need a capacity for vendor-neutral data persistence, such as utilizing a common scheme or set of archetypes and rules for managing structured and unstructured data”.

There are a number of cases supporting the fact that openEHR based solutions can be applied at any scale and can meet requirements of the HIMSS EMR Adoption Model levels 6 and 7. In his presentation, Mr. Gornik will speak about the first hospital in the world using a clinical system based on an open platform to be awarded the EMR Adoption Model level 6 (Ljubljana Children’s Hospital in Slovenia) as well as the first NHS Trust that implemented a comprehensive closed-loop medication management system based on an open platform (Plymouth Hospitals). A city-wide EHR based on open standard approach was launched in Moscow City’s 500 primary care clinics, transforming care delivery for 12 million citizens. Mr Gornik will also highlight other use cases including Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Eurotransplant, and Genomics England
