What is the Affiliate Program?
Managed by openEHR International, the Affiliate Program promotes the global adoption of shareable electronic health records, to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes.
Affiliates are made up of individuals and organisations from one geography, sector or speciality who are members of openEHR International and have successfully applied for affiliate status.
What affiliates do
- Build local networks of people, implementers and institutions using openEHR
- Adapt openEHR materials for local use
- Run seminars, webinars and openEHR days
- Advocate for openEHR with governments and health authorities
- Help local companies and developers prepare for conformance testing
- Showcase solutions from their region
- Create shared marketing materials for local vendors
How affiliates are run
The Affiliate Program Board oversees the program, helps affiliates work together and promotes openEHR’s mission in each region or sector.
Members and supporters
Members are individuals and organisations in the affiliate’s area who already belong to openEHR International. Affiliates can also appoint supporters, who give financial or in-kind help without voting rights.
An elected board
Each affiliate is managed by a board of at least three people, elected by its full members and accountable to openEHR International. The board meets quarterly and keeps records of membership, decisions and discussions.
Reporting and branding
Affiliates run their own meetings and local finances, submit annual reports and accounts to openEHR International, keep their websites in line with openEHR materials, follow the branding guidelines and make clear they are a separate legal entity.
