Some users, including me, have experienced strange difficulties accessing CKM when using a 3G connection e.g via a wireless USB stick or iPhone etc. All of these devices work fine when in Wifi mode - it is purely the 3G connection itself that causes the problem.
Usually CKM appears to start to load but then hangs before the normal main page is displayed.
This problem has been investigated and appears to be due to a common practice of 3G providers to insert a piece of javascript code into any web page accessed , and designed to compress images and therefore speed up access.
Unfortunately this appears to conflict with the Google Web Toolkit (GWT), a software library that is used in many web applications including CKM. Unfortunately this is outside our control and remains to be resolved by the GWT developers.
Until this comes about, here are some workarounds:
1. T-mobile Web'n'Walk software for Windows:
You can switch off the optimisation via Tools->Options->Optimisation. Alternatively pressing Ctrl-F5 may fix things.
2. T-mobile Web'n'Walk software for MacOS:
It is not possible to switch off optimisation in the Mac version but there is a freeware utility called ByteMe Optimiser that can be downloaded from http://mac.softpedia.com/progDownload/ByteMe-Optimizer-Download-36195.html
This generally works but you may have to clear your browser cache or even restart your machine, and run ByteMe Optimiser before re-opening your browser.
Other makes of 3G card and stick have similar problems - Google for '3G Image compression' + name of your card/stick vendor or to find similar solutions.
