I have today posted  an update on progress of the openEHR Foundation over the past year on the web site.

This is both a report from the Board and some personal reflections on the stage it has reached and the inevitable growing pains it is experiencing.

I would like to say thank you to everyone working so hard to make things happen: in terms of the specifications, the growing repository of formative archetypes, the implementation and dissemination of openEHR-based systems, and the discussion of wider partnerships and related governance and licensing issues.

The update addresses some difficult matters of governance and commercial interface , that we must, and do, take very seriously. Everyone involved in openEHR should, nonetheless, feel proud that, through their many combined efforts, it continues to make important progress, working towards a viable future configuration with it's essentially clinically driven and  implementation focussed mission fully intact - and as relevant as ever.

Sam, Dipak, Tom, Tony and I send good wishes to you all and express the hope that you will stick with us as we take forward and evolve openEHR, with you, in 2010.

David Ingram, for the Foundation Board
