[Oship] Welcome to All
Hi, I am a bit over-whelmed with the responses between applying for the GSoC2009 and the participation in the INCT-MACC network. Of course I am passionate about the project since I first conceived it in 2005. The maturing of Zope3 and the appearance of Grok have made it well worth the wait. I would have preferred to be able to respond to every join on the project (I do get an email saying you joined) but time simply hasn't permitted it. Roger Erens has done a great job of welcoming people and inviting them to announce their interests. But even he has a life. :-) I do encourage EVERYONE, if you have not done so, to write a bit about yourself and why you are interested in this project. It helps to build a community. You didn't come here out of chance. You made a conscious decision to join the group and it would be good to hear what you hope to gain and what you hope to contribute. Nothing is too small not too large. While I am sure that most of you are members of social networking groups. I want you to consider joining LinkedIn (see my signature below) if you are interested at all in promoting your careers in health informatics and/or computer science. It is amazing the global links that you can turn up as well as the opportunity to have someone recommend you. Again, thank you for becoming part of the OSHIP family. I hope that you will not hesitate to ask on the list when you are confused or hesitant. Myself or no one else may know the answer. but most of the mentors have been around open source communities long enough to know where to send you for the answer. "Yes We Can"; build a better healthcare IT infrastructure!
