OSHIP Leadership
Hi All, In my opinion and experience, successful open source projects live and die by their momentum. To maintain that momentum requires a project leader that with a certain ability to motivate developers, do public relations, perform overall project planning, manage mailing lists and recruit new members whether they are developers or other assets. I can also at certain times require a good bit of diplomacy. It isn't "too" time consuming but it does add up. I am now in a position that I cannot perform those tasks for OSHIP. I am looking for someone to put their name in that slot on the project page. I do not want to be misunderstood though. I am not abandoning OSHIP completely. I plan to continue working on the code and making suggestions to the overall architecture if there are changes that need to be made. So, in this aspect I will still be active. In fact likely more active than I have been recently. If you are interested in these mostly administrative duties then I will work with you over the coming weeks to see that there is a good transition. Please contact me or Tom Beale. I look forward to a fully functioning OSHIP. Regards, Tim
