Eric Browne

• Former head of Clinical Information at Australia's  National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA).
• Member openEHR ARB since Feb 2006.

Eric has a Bachelor of Engineering (Communications), and a PhD in Computer Science (Workflow Modelling for Chronic Disease Management). He has presented at international conferences on enterprise information systems and is an active member of a number of health informatics organisations.

He has worked for over 30 years in information technology related fields, including research and development in physiology, experimental psychology, biomedical engineering and geophysics, having held positions at the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and the University of Cambridge (UK). Eric has extensive private sector experience in large scale information system design and deployment, including as consulting principal on projects in the defence, utilities, logistics, health and primary industries.

Eric is the former head of NEHTA's Clinical Information Initiative, determining requirements for standardised health information and developing approaches to helping organisations transition their systems to emerging standards.
